Synopsis: The objective of the course is to equip students with the knowledge on the development and planning of the urban land use so as to bring about an efficient and functional urban area to meet the socio-economic needs and to enhance the living environment of its citizenry. The contents of the course will discuss in great detail the principles (theories and concept) and philosophy, for the development and planning of the urban land use; the urban land use planning control mechnisms; the urban land use planning process; and the concept of planning for the public interest.
